Cooking Up A Storm For Hanukah

Last week teens in Shulamis Rothman's "Soul Food" class cooked Sufganiyot for the school.  This tasty fried dough was enjoyed by all!

Soul Food meets weekly to discuss Jewish foods, Kashrut, food in Jewish culture and much more.  In addition, they often cook or prepare great treats for the entire school on Sunday morning!

Hi From Hebrew 130 (Alpha NETA)

Hi Everyone,
We at Alfa-Neta1 Hebrew class have recently studied the words: "יש" (there is, there are) and "אין" (there isn’t, there aren’t).

We have also studied that the word "יש" includes another meaning and is used to say “yes!” as a happy cheerful response:
"No homework today”-יש
“There will be a field trip tomorrow”-יש

We all know that שלום has several meanings, too, like; hi, bye and peace.   So until next time let us say to all of you
                                  שלום

goodbye and peace
From us; Alfa-Neta1’s teens and teacher

8th Grade Students Head to Ropes Course!!

A few weeks ago the 8th grade students headed to the ropes course at Camp Guyasuta.  The teens had a great time working together on challenges throughout the morning!  This annual trip is a great way for our 8th grade students to get to know each other as they begin their journey at J-SITE together.
